Report of the Franklin-Grand Isle Community Food Shelf

Rena Goulette and Peggy Coon have been taking the donated groceries from the St. Paul’s grocery cart and delivering them to the Franklin Grand Isle Community Food Shelf on Monday mornings.  The Food Shelf relocated from North Main Street (near Subway) and is now located on Lemnah Drive.

Three to four grocery bags are delivered each week (sometimes less, sometimes more).  Since the beginning of 2010, 1,431 pounds of food have been delivered.  That averages to approximately 34 pounds a week for 42 weeks.  It’s a good work out!

We know that our donations are greatly appreciated and we receive positive feedback from the workers, as well as the patrons.

This mission will continue on a weekly basis, so please watch your Sunday bulletin for the “item of the week.”  You can add that item to your grocery list or pick something from your shelves at home; all food donations are welcome.  Thank you!

Respectfully submitted,

Peggy Coon
